what i've done

Hello Bloggers!
Well it's been 5 days since my last post and I know you are all excited to read this new one right? Lol. Not too much has happened since Valentine's Day. On the home front, I've been feeling ill which is no fun for anyone. I have plans to see my momma today for the first time in almost 3 weeks. I try to make the trip to see her every 2 weeks but last week I had to cancel because of sickness. Hopefully I can see her today because I do miss her and  I have to get some important information for college. With the summer semester staring in only a few months, time is sure to pass by quickly and leave me feeling unprepared if I don't get my things in order. I'm excited to be going back to school again. Being away from the learning experience is a tough thing especially when it's replaced with the work experience. Work experience not in my field but in the area of a teenager's arena. So this will give me new hope and chance of furthering my career in a more respected field. It stuns me that I have been kept away from the experience I want since I graduated from my last college in 2009. Instead, I have been living the life of a more responsible adult and working to make a living. Which is the most responsible role I've had my entire life. As for the rest of the day, my fiance and I will probably wind up going to the grocery store for some much needed supplies. Then it's back to the house for some relaxation before another day at work. On the work front, my very dear friend departed from the business and will sadly not be returning. He was given his marching papers due to some unavoidable back stabbing by a fellow employee. It won't be long before this person decides to eliminate the rest of the competition by giving them the same fate. I can't say I dislike this person entirely, but I would rather avoid unnecessary contact with him/her. I feel the same way about my manager which is not the best thing if I plan on keeping my position. As of this week, two more employees will be leaving for "better" opportunities at another store. I hope this store lasts long enough for the move to be worth it. With the economy the way it is, not many people want to spend tons of money on high priced groceries. So there will be two new employees starting work this week. It looks like I will have to work with them more than I would like. The two people leaving are responsible for working most week day shifts. Without them, I will be left taking the slack and I will have to put faith in the new recruits to do their job. Luckily, I have found a friend in the latest employee and maybe she can take some more hours to eliminate the new people taking over. Unluckily, she has found a second job and might leave the one that offers the least advantages. Lol. I just realized the tone I set for my explanation of the work environment is like that of a sad journey. I have been watching Meerkat Manor of the past few days and I have fallen in heart with the little groups on the show. I guess that explains the way I have worded things. In other news, I received my penguin plush back pack in the mail yesterday. I was surprised at the size of the item because I had imagined it being wider than it is. None the less, I think it's adorable and I'm happy with my purchase. I still have to wait a month or so for my other penguin item: the penguin music pillow. Another flash back to work, I have to purchase some new work pants and some work shoes. The zipper on my jeans is afraid of heights and I can no longer wear them. My shoes must be in need of more oxygen because they have created a breathing hole which allows more water to enter the shoes. I can't say I'm surprised because I've had the same pair of jeans and shoes for over a year. I would have purchased more but I thought they would outlast the reason why I used them. On a more uncertain note, my fiance has been called to take some training courses for Kia Motors and he will have to spend 3 days learning how to do the job. If he passes, then he might get hired and we will have to reevaluate living arrangements. Unless he can cope with driving that distance, we will have to move to a closer city. This might make the commute to school longer and it may be impossible for me to attend school and work at the same time. If this occurs, I will have to find employment at a place closer to school which might not be a negative thing. Well that's all I have to type for now. I apologize for boring you all to tears with my average and unadventurous life. Well, I'm going to log off now and get ready for the days schedule. I'll be back to post again. Have a great day or a good night.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello Bloggers!
I would like to wish all of you a Happy Valentines Day! I know it's meant to be a day for people in love. In my opinion, it doesn't have to be only celebrated between two people who are romantic with one another. It can also be celebrated amongst people who care about each other. My Valentines Day has been spread over three days. Yesterday was the first of the three days. I arrived home from work and my fiance was sitting in the bedroom with the lights off. When I turned them on, I saw that he had cleaned to room and made the bed. There was a giant heart shaped box of candy and an owl stuffed animal on the bed. He told me how much he loves me and how much I mean to him. Today, even though it was Valentine's Day, we spent some time apart. Only because I had to work and he stayed home to go to the doctor's office. He found out that he has bronchitis.:( We got carry out food from our favorite restaurant, Sonny's, and we watched some television together. Since he is ill at the moment, the doctor said he can't return to work until Thursday. Which means that we get to spend the day together tomorrow, because I also have the day off from work. Our plans are to get dinner at a fancy restaurant and then catch a late movie. I say plans in the sense that it's impossible to predict what will happen tomorrow. So if things go well, then we will be able to have a mini date night. If not, we will probably stay indoors and spend time together then have a date night this weekend. Either way, I'm excited to spend more time with my fiance and be able to take care of him when he's ill. Anyways, that's all I've been up to today. I know it's not the most exciting or romantic Valentines Day story but it's mine and I loved it. Oh, my fiance let me pick out my Valentines Day gift and I purchased in online yesterday. It's a plush penguin draw string back pack. It's from the same company that makes the pillow pets, where I bought a penguin pillow pet and a penguin neck pillow from. I can't wait to receive it in the 5 to 7 days. Lol. I should also be receiving the penguin music pillow I ordered from Ebay by the middle of next month. It's being mailed straight from China, where most of the  futuristic and cool technology is made. So those are the purchasing I'm waiting on and I hope they arrive in good condition. I'm  always paranoid about buying items from the internet but it's the only option available when I've gone shopping at all of the stores in Georgia. Well that's all I have to type right now. I'm getting a little tired so I'm going to log off. I hope you all have a great night and I'll post again later.

boredom

Hello Bloggers!
As you can tell by the title of this post, I'm bored! Which happens most days when I have to work. I have a schedule of 3-9 today at my place of employment. Even though it's only 6 hours, I'd prefer it if I could plan something else to do on a Sunday instead of working. Although, today brings good news for Joseph's parents. They are celebrating their anniversary and there will be family, fun, and cake! Sadly, I have to go to work around the time the festivities begin. It seems like I have to work every time a family event happens. :( So while my fiance and his family are having fun and catching up, I'll be slicing meat and cheese for people who want to buy groceries on a Sunday! YAY! I think grocery stores should be closed on Sundays, or at least the departments of grocery stores. I need to find a new job and pronto. I read an article on Yahoo news about the Georgia government making changes to the lottery funded Hope program. The article basically states that there are too many people enrolling in college which is causing the Hope program to fund more applicants than they can afford. So let me get this straight, the economy is down so people aren't buying as many lottery tickets. On the plus side, people want to improve their lives by attending college but they need money in order to do so. Money that the government can't provide in scholarship or employment form. It's also money that people can't receive to attend college or buy lottery tickets. Wow, I guess in a failing economy, people should avoid higher learning and job search for low paying jobs at places that aren't hiring! In all, working where I do isn't the worst thing that could be happening to me right now. What the government plans to do is raise the GPA and SAT/ACT testing scores of high school students and college students from 3.0 to 3.2-3.5 which could cause problems. As well as, only allow families who make less than 66,000 a year to receive funding which I actually agree on. In addition, they plan on limiting the amount of money towards tuition and lowering the book money from 300 to 150 a semester, again another con in this argument. They want to get rid of the "second chance" rule where students can regain funding once their grades increase and exclude the funding of remedial classes, which can be a valid point. This is a concern to myself due to the fact that I have 3 years or more left of schooling and I might only have a year or less funded by Hope. So I'll be forced to take out more money in student loans than I had planned. :( Looking on the positive side, the new changes to the Hope might not take place until late 2012 to early 2013. Hopefully, I can make good use of the Hope Scholarship while their is still hope left for the economy to rise. Well, I don't really have anything else to add at the moment so I guess I'll log off and attempt to get my fiance off of his PC game, DC Universe, before I leave for work. Until then, Have a Great Day!

These are just a few of my all time favorite penguin creations! There are many more out there and I'll post them all in due time. Until then, I hope you've enjoyed looking at all of the inventions out there for penguin and technology lovers alike. Sadly, as much as I love penguins, I'd have to avoid purchasing the more expensive penguin electronics. It pains me to part with penguin items that I want but it pains me more to part with money that I need. Lol. Anyways, if anyone else spots some interesting penguin technology or anything interesting or penguin related then feel free to post some here! I know it's a needle in a haystack to think that people take enough time to not only read my posts, but respond to them. But hey, someones bound to find that needle and if it's me, I hope I have my safety gloves on! Well, I'm logging off now to spend time with my awesome and ill fiance but I wish you all a good morning/night depending on your time zone. I'll Type to all of you later!!! ^_^

how i've changed

Hello again!
As I promised, I'm here to post another blog. I know, exciting right? Well I'm about to go to bed but I thought I'd sit up and update my profile. It needed to be completely redone but I decided to stick with what I have. I did change my background which took some serious Internet searching to find one I liked. I'm not thrilled about the tiling factor but I do like the overall look of the design. I'll probably change it again though. Other than that, I updated my old pictures. The ones I had were from 2009-2010 so I needed to change those. Since I took those pictures, I had a haircut and I have managed to keep it short. I prefer it the way it is now because its easier to manage. I don't style my hair except for what I can pull back into a pony tail or pig tails. As far as style, I ditched the "sporty comfort" style, so to say. I now wear long, dressy shirts and sweater dresses over jeans. I try to buy shirts that don't have logos or childish patterns on them. Not that anything is wrong with advertising expensive brand names or wearing "emo, punk" patterns. It's just that I'm almost 23 and to be honest, some styles are meant to be left in high school. So other than that, my fashion style hasn't changed much. Besides fashion, of course I watch a lot of television and tons of movies. Since I work mostly nights, there really isn't anything to do besides watch television or sleep in on work days. I watch the same shows as listed on my profile. Except for a few new shows that have caught my attention, thank you Joseph. For instance, I recently started watching TrueBlood and I really like it. I also like watching Dexter, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The Ricky Gervais Show, and a few others that my darling fiance watches. Which to be honest, again, he watches almost anything and he can quote or paraphrase most of what he watches. My movie interests are the same as they were in 2009 except now I can watch ones with actors/actresses I don't favor. As far as music, I have begun to listen to music genres I really didn't pay attention to before. For example, I listen to 94.1, 99.7, and 97.9 on my way to work when I'd use to just listen to 96.1. The stations I listen to now have techno/dance, pop/rock, and r&b artists that I've began to favor. Lady Gaga, Taio Cruz, Bruno Mars, BoB,Ke$ha, Rihanna, and Katy Perry are a few artists I listen to now. Overall, I can say that I've opened up my interests to more than just horror and rock genres. I'm definitely more open minded when is comes to the people I interact with as well. Before, I wouldn't allow myself to be in the company of people who smoked cigarettes or who drank alcohol. Since I met my fiance, I've learned to be more accepting of people who do things I wouldn't do. He has really taught me to look past the differences between someone else and myself. This has allowed me to be more tolerable and understanding about the decisions other people make. Which in turn, made me less paranoid about being around people who I thought were negative influences. I'd say, with confidence, that meeting Joseph was one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. He has made a major contribution into making me a better person. Now, I have to give credit to God and his righteous son Jesus for being my main support and motivation through life. Without religion, I'm sure I wouldn't have the strength to overcome obstacles or the determination to keep moving on a positive path. But that's a conversation for another post, if it becomes a topic at all. Well it's getting pretty early in the morning and I should try to get some rest. Sadly, I'm not very tired so it could take 30 minutes for sleepiness to take over my eyelids. Anyways, I'm going to log off the magical Internet and go to bed. Where my loving and adoring fiance is passed out from cough medicine. Unfortunately, my love has caught a cold and hasn't felt well for the past four days. On the same note, my caring and understanding mother is also under the weather, so to say. Later on today Joseph and I will have to drive about 45 minutes to see her. I also have to get my work schedule and pay check on the way there. So at least I'll have some outdoor air in my lungs on my day off. Well I must not break my promise to my brain to give it some well deserved time off. I'll be back to post another blog again soon so don't get too bummed out. Lol. I wish all you blogger people out there a good night/morning!

oh me oh my

Hello, Bloggers! I'm back and to be honest, I forgot I had an account on this site for a while. Not that I don't like blogging and interacting with all of the people that might be reading my posts. Lol. I like to keep a level head about things so I don't get an ego the size of the Grand Canyon. Anyways, I've been up to some things since I last posted. Which was longer ago than I had previously thought. So OK I last left off with me getting a job which I still have. Thank you God. I'm still in a relationship with Joseph. I know it's about time I kept one, right. Lol. So yeah recently we got ENGAGED! I use all caps because it's a big stepping stone in a person's life and I chose to add this one to my path with him. I found an amazing guy and I'm psyched that I get to call him mine. Anyways, I'm having the mid life work blues. It's not really mid life but it feels like it some times. I'm at the point of trying to find another job, like many people these days. I'm not all gloomy about working where I do but I'm not doing cartwheels either. Not that I know how to do a cartwheel but anyways. Other than that. I have decided to return to the books and get a degree in Biology. It's not a complete 180 from Forensic Science but it will take me longer to get a degree than I had planned. I'm not gloomy about that fact either. I feel blessed to have the chance at a college education let alone have the motivation to keep seeking knowledge. With my degree, I want to become a microbiologist which is one who studies tiny living things. For example, if you get a cold then you get sick. That's not all there is though. Something causes that cold as with any illness. So I'll be studying the causes of illnesses whether they be bacteria, virus, or fungi. I'm totally excited about this turn of education and I know it will open up more doors for my career. Anyways, it's getting somewhat late and I'm hungry/tired. So I'll end this post with a promise to post again, as well as, a thank you and goodnight.
